Simon Christen shot for two years various photos of a misty San Francisco at dusk, to compose this highly poetic work. Enchanting and impenetrable, the fog lays down on a sleepy city, silently watching it as it slowly wakes up. Fames frantically evolve in time-lapse, but the mysterious stillness of the city remains intact, overrun by this atmospheric phenomenon. An ocean of clouds embraces San Francisco, as the music of Jimmy LaValle – also known as The Album Leaf – slowly falls down on the mist that clashes on bridges and skyscrapers like waves breaking on rocks. Photographer Simon Christen writes his personal love letter to the fog, so dreamy and delicate, guiding the onlooker through an hazy reverie that has the warm tones of dusk. Adrift.
