Ghostly International Presents: Andy Gilmore
Psychedelic works for an art-immersed life.
0 – 5 | 2013 | Art | Documentary | Live-Action | USA
An introduction and tribute to Andy Gilmore, the artist who became famous for his psychedelic geometric forms. His works echo the textures of a kaleidoscope, deeply influenced by the nature the artist constantly observes, from the leaves on the trees to the flocks of flying birds. Gilmore’s work method is condensed in this shortfilm by Will Calcutt. Origamis, sketches and objects that remind of his works are to be found everywhere in his studio, for a life that’s completely immersed in art. Gilmore has collaborated with a large number of important magazines, such as the New York Times and Wired. He’s also the author of Gold Panda‘s artworks (whose music also serves as a soundtrack for this documentary) and of other artists from Ghostly International. Hypnotic and hypnotizing art.
