1500 Words – by Andrew Chaplin
What would you do if you went to the doctors and discovered that you only had 1500 words left to live?

You have 1,500 words left to live. How would you react to that sentence? Hard to imagine how few are 1,500 words, they could go away in just 10 minutes. How many words we waste every day? How many words are indispensable? When is it better to be quiet?
We’ll be forced to choose appropriate adjectives. We’ll be forced to be direct, to do not beat around the bush. This is the paradoxical situation experienced by Stanley Franks, the protagonist of 1500 Words, the short film directed by Andrew Chaplin, a black comedy full of black humor (of course…). 1500 Words is heartbreaking and funny at the same time. The identification with the main character is essential and now you’re probably asking yourself: “What I would say, and to whom?”.
Acclaimed ads director at Hungry Man Productions and author of the 5-part sitcom Witless for the BBC, Andrew Chaplin with 1500 Words won the Best Short Film Awards at the London Independent Film Festival and the New York Independent Film Festival.comments powered by Disqus
