Crush
La ricerca della poltrona perfetta come riflessione sulle relazioni sentimentali.
2011 | 5 - 10 | Comedy | Live-Action | Love | USA
A woman is looking for the perfect armchair, in this short film directed by Rebecca Pugh and Jen West. A static shot shows us the evolution of the protagonist’s love life, without ever showing her entire figure. Changes in clothing e lighting narrate the passage of time, as different styles follow one another, mirroring the diverse experiences in our lives. Our protagonist dances, drinks, rejoices, gets sad, watches a movie, even has a breakdown. The (arm)chair, the semiotic element par excellence, represents the experience of living, everything that might or might not happen. A small and lively portrait of the evolution of the individual existence, linked to the experience of love and to the pursuit of the perfect chair as a lost object. Sheltering with a security blanket for a possible return to a love that was never truly abandoned.
